Cultivating the Next Generation for Global Dialogue
Prof. Shih-Torng Ding, Executive Vice President, National Taiwan University
International communication skills and perspectives are essential “critical links” for Taiwan to enhance its national competitiveness while keeping abreast of globalization trends. National Taiwan University (NTU) has been selected by the Ministry of Education (MOE) as a key cultivation university in its effort to promote bilingual learning. In this role, NTU actively promotes bilingual education within its campus and collaborates with other Taiwanese colleges to achieve this goal.
This issue of NTU Highlights introduces our efforts towards bilingual education by empowering teachers and elevating students’ English proficiency. The aim is to accelerate, through bilingual education, the cultivation of a generation capable of communicating on the global stage.
