To promote meaningful engagement between Taiwan and the world’s leading academic bodies, the International Peace Foundation, Academia Sinica, and 12 academic and research institutions across Taiwan jointly launched the Taiwan Bridges Program, which was held from 2025 to 2026 and brought a total of 31 Nobel laureates to Taiwan for a series of lectures and scholarly exchanges, six of which were hosted at National Taiwan University (NTU).
Taiwan Bridges Program not only represents scientific exchange but also bridges ideas, values, and people across borders. This bridge of knowledge linking Taiwan with the world allows NTU faculty members and students to directly engage in scholarly dialogue with Nobel laureates and gain firsthand exposure to cutting-edge research, innovative thinking, and the spirit of scientific inquiry. These interactions help strengthen the university’s research capacity while broadening its academic community’s global perspectives.
NTU extends its sincere gratitude to Raymond Soong, founder of the Lite-On Group, for his long-standing support of education. His generous sponsorship of several institutions has helped ensure that the Taiwan Bridges Program was successfully implemented. The university also expresses its appreciation for President Ching-te Lai, the program’s honorary chair, whose leadership, guidance, and advocacy have allowed academic and research institutions to join government agencies in advancing science education in Taiwan.
