At NTU College of Medicine, we are privileged to stand at the intersection of tradition and innovation. From deciphering the genomic blueprint of Taiwan's population to redefining on how we care for patients, faculty and students, we are eager to quest these human-centered questions. To our readers: we hope you find inspiration, insight, and a renewed connection to all that we are building together.
This issue covers the remarkable breadth of work being done on our campus: surgeons researching ways to make cancer surgeries safer and more precise, ultimately improving survival rates and enhancing patients’ quality of life, researchers uncovering novel autoimmune mechanisms that explain adult-onset vulnerability to infections, pediatric cardiologists refining care for congenital anomalies, neurologists studying inherited conditions leading to early stroke, and nurses transforming waiting times from a passive, unproductive period into a meaningful and engaging opportunity to connect. We focus on the integration of precision medicine with big data and compassionate care. Each article reflects our belief that medicine is not only about knowledge, but about individuals and the collective community.
