NTU is Taiwan's largest, most comprehensive research university, with the greatest range of research topics and the highest level of international visibility. Members of the NTU family have played significant roles in every aspect of Taiwan's democratization, with all four of Taiwan's democratically-elected presidents being NTU alumni. In 2022, Harvard Business Review recognized 15 NTU alumni among Taiwan's top 100 leaders. NTU alumni hold leadership positions in approximately 18% of the listed, over-the-counter, and emerging stock companies in Taiwan, contributing a total revenue of NT$9.9 trillion, which is 23.4% of the total annual revenue of these companies. The top 5 industries that NTU alumni pursue their career include biotechnology and healthcare, semiconductors, communication networks, electronic components, and computers and peripherals, showcasing the essential role the NTU family plays in driving Taiwan's social and economic development.
