Internationalization of Education at NTU

As Taiwan's top educational institution, NTU was ranked among the top 100 in the 2023 QS World University Rankings. In terms of subject rankings, NTU was placed in top 50 globally for nine subjects, including Classics & Ancient History, Modern Languages, Engineering – Civil & Structural and others. As a leader of Taiwan’s higher education, our paramount mission is to nurture pioneering global leaders.

NTU has the most comprehensive higher education system in Taiwan, consisting of 16 colleges, including the College of Liberal Arts, College of Social Sciences, College of Science, College of Engineering, College of Medicine, and College of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, as well as affiliated hospitals with the first cancer center in Asia. To attract international talents, we offer over 1,800 courses taught in English and have established the International College, offering interdisciplinary, all-English degree programs focusing on Taiwan’s industry and culture, as well as NTU’s areas of specialty.

In recent years, the development of the semiconductor field at NTU has drawn much attention. Through collaborations with multinational companies such as MediaTek Inc. and TSMC, the University introduced cutting-edge technologies and integrated industry practices into relevant curriculum, fostering the new generation of semiconductor experts.

All of NTU's campus facilities occupies 1% of Taiwan's total land area, mostly comprised of the Experimental Forest in central Taiwan. With the wide range of altitudes, the Experimental Forest contains diverse and abundant flora, fauna and other natural resources, forming an ideal interdisciplinary research and fieldwork area for studying biodiversity, ecological conservation, and climate change. With 642 partner schools and 105 joint degree programs, NTU has consistently collaborated with distinguished universities worldwide on co-teaching courses, study groups and more. Through such collaborative initiatives, NTU is able to broaden students’ horizons and facilitate international mobility.
