NTU Establishes the International School of Politics and Economics

In recognition of Taiwan's critical geopolitical significance and the continuous impact of emerging technologies on industrial development, NTU is establishing the International School of Politics and Economics. This initiative aligns with the “National Key Fields Industry-University Cooperation and Skilled Personnel Training Act,” demonstrating NTU's commitment to social responsibility as a leading academic institution, in line with Taiwan's national talent development strategy.

The primary aim of the School is to cultivate visionary leaders equipped with comprehensive global perspectives in politics and economics. These leaders will possess a deep understanding of international financial dynamics, adeptness in navigating evolving technological landscapes, and strategic acumen. Additionally, the School seeks to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among political and economic think tanks.

The School will offer eight degree programs spanning three major fields. Notably, the Political Science and Economics Program, as well as the Finance Program, will feature bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral level degree programs. Furthermore, a Professional Master’s/Doctoral Program in Leadership and Management tailored for professionals with work experience will be available. All programs will be conducted entirely in English, integrating cross-disciplinary knowledge and practical applications, and will be accessible to both local and international students. The Master’s program is slated to commence in the fall of 2025.

With a focus on global networks, the International School of Politics and Economics will establish collaborative programs with renowned international institutions. These programs may include co-teaching or co-advising, student exchanges, internships, and dual degree programs. Moreover, the School will invite international scholars, experts, and leaders from both political and business sectors to serve as guest lecturers, imparting state-of-the-art knowledge and practical experiences to students.

Given the pervasive influence of politics and economics across various industries, the School will maintain strong connections with sectors such as finance, technology, manufacturing, and healthcare. This will not only provide students with industrial internship opportunities but also enhance the synergy of industry-academia cooperation initiatives.

The School is anticipated to be situated at NTU's Downtown Campus, known for its vibrant cultural and artistic atmosphere. With its century-old buildings exuding architectural charm, the establishment of the International School of Politics and Economics will rejuvenate the Downtown Campus to its former glory.
